Roofbag

For those of you who haven't yet heard, we are going on a trip to California this fall with my family. We'll be going to Disneyland and Universal Studios. The girls just found out and are thrilled. In order to save on the ever increasing cost of gas, we decided to all go in our van. Yes that's right 5 adults and two girls in carseats, not to mention all our clothes, hair and makeup stuff, cameras, coolers, entertainment for the loooong drive, etc. It will require some careful planning and packing, and some king of carrier for the top of the van. After researching and shopping around we went with roofbag.com. I ordered it Friday, and today in the middle of "kindergarten" a little box arrived.
As you can imagine I was a little confused how 15 cu. feet of storage, plus protective mat, 3 duffel bags, extra straps, and a bag to store it all could fit in such a little box. Amazingly it really does store very compactly. The roofbag is at the back, and one of the three duffel bags is at the front. They are specially designed to fit in the bag with its aerodynamic design for easy loading and unloading.
I was anxious to see how much could really fit in one of these bags. I grabbed pajamas, a couple pairs of pants each, and six shirts for each Nate and I. As you can see there was plenty of room to still add g's, socks, shoes, and more. Or...
You can put a little girl inside. Or...

You can put two little girls inside. We even did up the zipper with room to spare. Yeah! I believe we're set. Now we're just going to have to try them out next time we come to Poky, or maybe I can talk Nate into going camping again.
