Hulse Easter Egg Hunt
Terra planned an Easter Egg hunt for Sunday afternoon. Each child got their own color of egg which made it kind of fun and nobody had to worry about counting to a certain number of eggs.
After the kids found each of their 12 eggs, then they got to get an extra couple of prizes from Terra. Kaden had fun modeling his bunny mask.

Easter Morning
The Easter Bunny found us at Grandma and Grandpas house. The girls got matching pjs with nightgowns for their dolls too. I tried to get Kayla to bring a doll as well without telling her why, but she didn't feel like it. Maybe next time she'll listen...doubt it, but maybe...
Kayla found her basket right away and immediately started into her chocolate bunny.
Allie couldn't believe that she got her own Tangled book along with her basket.
The girls got to work searching for eggs around the room.
Allie found one too!
A box of peeps was hidden under the couch.
Kayla jumped in the tub to get ready for church and Allie couldn't wait to check out her cool new book. It is interactive in that the removable stickers can be interchanged and the story can be read. It is exactly up her ally.
I was able to find the girls some cute dresses that coordinated perfectly in color and style, but they are different. I think Kayla and Allie look pretty darn cute. If I do say so myself.

Painting Easter Eggs
A couple years ago I bought a paint kit for painting Easter eggs. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but then I have been unwilling to let the girls actually use it. This year we figured they could handle it since they both absolutely love to paint.
Kayla and Allie had a great time, and Allie only broke 4-5 eggs...good thing they were hard boiled. Sadly even though the box claimed the paint would dry in minutes, when the Easter bunny came they were still tacky. So instead of hiding the girls creations, the Easter bunny had to hide plastic eggs. The girls were sad at first until they realized they got extra candy out of it.

Friday evening after the shower we had an egg hunt at Mom and Dad's. The kids got spoiled with 22 eggs each plus a few toys like bubbles and an egg of bunnies (a barrel of monkeys). They had a great time searching the yard for the hidden treasures.
When did that girl get so tall?
At least one of my kids still needs help to reach the high eggs.
It was great fun, but unfortunately Jason ended up eating a peanut butter egg. Thankfully he threw up right away and Cory and Angie were able to give him an epi shot. He didn't have to go the emergency room, but it did end their fun. We are so lucky that Kayla is old enough to watch and question what she's eating. Plus she'll only get sick for a few hours/days, not have to go to the ER.

Baby Shower
Amy and my Mom threw me a baby shower while we were in Pocatello over Easter. I told them I just wanted something low key with only the very close family. So we went to Ruby Tuesdays and had more of a girls day out complete with presents. It was lots of fun to be able to visit with everybody. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of everybody so Amy you'll have to share your pictures... please.

After lunch we had cupcakes Mom made. Amy used the cricuit and made cute little wrappers. I wish I'd gotten a better picture, but if you look closely you can see Allie's wrapper sitting on the table.
I opened a few presents before food and then more afterwards. We got spoiled royally. So thank you everybody. Here are a few of the pictures. A cute outfit from Jessica.
Allie picked out these things for the baby. She was sooo cute. She had to look at every baby item in the store. She'd pick her favorite item from a certain area. After she'd been through the entire section, she went back through her favorites and narrowed it down. It was a hilarious and very time consuming process.
Carol made us this beautiful afghan that we'll be able to use for the blessing.
Amy got this great frame, and she is planning on taking pictures when the baby is 1 1/2-2 weeks old.
Angie made this cute blanket and gave us a bunch of elephant things.
Ashley found this cute cuddly bear to lay the baby on on the floor. She was worried it wouldn't be useful, but Kayla and Allie have been using it ever since. Hopefully the baby will get a chance at it.

Thank you so much everybody! I feel sooooo spoiled. We went from not having any summer clothes for the baby to now having a great assortment. 8 more weeks!!!!

Playing Games
Sunday April 17th, the weather cooperated long enough for a little outside family time. I was told I could sit, watch, and take pictures but not play. Oh well, at least I got to be with them. Nate and the girls got out all of our outdoor games. They started with a few games of bocce ball. Kayla and Allie were actually very good at this game.

Measuring who's ball is the closest. Don't you just love the difference between our old and new grass. It looks so pretty. Nate would love to fertilize and I don't know, take care of it, but right now the basement is just a greater priority.
Next they set up the horseshoe golf game. Kayla showed Allie how to play.

It was so nice to have a relaxing day of playing together as a family. Too bad every day isn't Sunday.
Ward Easter Breakfast
April 16th our ward held their annual Easter Celebration. This year breakfast was complete with pancakes (my dear husband my GF), sausage, some eggs, fruit, juice, and milk. The kids ate great, especially when someone added chocolate chips to the GF pancakes. Really cuz the kids won't be getting enough sugar in a few minutes. While we were eating there was a slide show of the Savior. Then people in costumes talked about knowing the Savior. It was still kinda crazy dealing with the kids and food, so unfortunately I didn't get to listen as well as I would have liked. There were a few musical numbers as well. One of which was by the primary. Suddenly all the cameras came out. It isn't very often you can capture the primary kids singing...something about the inappropriateness of cameras in sacrament meeting.
It is crazy to know that this is in no way all of our primary. Just those that happened to be spending their Saturday with us.

Allie also had a blast finding eggs. Since there aren't actually any places to hide the eggs, it is really more of an egg pickup than hunt, but the kids love it just the same.

Field Trip to the Fire Station
A couple of weeks ago Allie's preschool class went on a field trip to the fire station. A friend took her for me, but they were not even there 10 minutes when the alarm sounded. There was an accident that required their services. The kids were disappointed, but they thought it was pretty exciting to see the firemen in action as they jumped onto the truck and sped away. Today we tried it again. This time I got to go which made a little girl very happy. Brother Arnold started the tour out with a game of which toys are safe. The kids got to pick something from the bag and then they talked about if it was okay to play with or not. 
Then they all practiced crawling to the door to see if it was hot.
Then they quickly put the fire out with a little Stop Drop and Roll.
Hats were given out. All the kids were so happy to get a new one since the strings had broke on all the ones they were given before.
The kids got to walk through the fire engine, and then they even got to sit in the driver's seat and check out all the buttons.
What a good little model.

After we left the fire station Allie and I went to mail the invitations to Terra's baby shower. Not even 5 minutes from when we'd left the fire engine came speeding down the road with its lights and sirens going. It headed toward our house, which made Allie immediately wonder if any of her friends' houses might be on fire. We were quite a ways behind so I told her we wouldn't be able to see where it stopped. When we lost sight she had me roll down the windows on the van to see if we could hear the siren anymore. We couldn't, but as we turned on our street, there it was. Unfortunately one of our neighbors was in need of their services. A couple of sheriff vehicles and the ambulance all converged across the street. I hope everything is okay with the family. But the kids thought it was a great end to their field trip.
