Decorating with Vinyl

I had sooo much fun playing with Amy's Cricuit. It was great to get to cut out all the sayings I wanted since I found vinyl online in huge rolls for a great deal. I've really been wanting and had even bought several sayings which I ended up returning.

My bathroom-I admit I love my bath. Since we'd never bought towels for this house, I bought these several months back and final put them out. (something was on the lens of my camera-so ignore the white spots)

The "relax" I used some of the sticker letters I'd previously used for the girls' names in their rooms.

I even managed to find these soap dispensers and toothpaste holder since we've also never had more than a $1 one and these were very inexpensive. I love the color these add to the counter.

I found this at the DI to put in my laundry room for all Nate's misc tools he leaves on the counter.

I love my wall. Do you think it will help me enjoy doing laundry? Maybe?

Our other wall in our bedroom. We decided that since we have lots of pictures of the kids around the house it would be fun to display some of our wedding pictures. The girls loved getting to see us on our wedding day.

I know it's a lot of decorating all at once, but I've been saving and gathering this stuff since we moved in this house. I'm sooo happy to have it all up on the wall (and off my floor).

Look What Nate Made!!!!

A while back I got the great idea to replace our $20 garage sale bed with something a little nicer. I compared the options. Spend $2000+, we don't really have, for a bedroom set or save the $2000+ for another Disneyland trip (someday...please...) while the kids are still the perfect age to love it. No brainer. Since we have my dresser my Dad made and some end tables that just needed a coat of paint, for now, Nate set out to build us a bed.
Here is the headboard. He put it together in only a few hours. I was/am very impressed.

The price of the bed did jump when Nate just HAD to get himself this new toy. I'm told it came in handy and will be used for lots of fun projects in the future.

The project then got put on hold while all the summer plans took precedence. Finally Nate pulled it back out after school started. We decided to add crown molding which turned into somewhat of a nightmare, but now that it's done, we love the look. Allie couldn't wait to help Daddy paint.

Kayla and Allie helped prime all the pieces, but then they weren't allowed to help with the high gloss paint. They were BIG helpers who did a very good job.

I guess Allie got to paint the underside of the box while Nate worked on the parts that would show.

This morning instead of getting anybody ready for the day, we started by tearing down the old bed. I sadly forgot to get a picture of the old stuff. Kayla helped Daddy attach the box to the headboard.

I've been collecting things to hang on the walls. I used Amy's Cricuit for the saying. (more on that later) I LOVE how it all came together. We still have another wall to do, but I couldn't wait to post this stuff.

The finished look. Isn't it wonderful? Can you believe Nate did that? I am so lucky to be married to such a handy man.

Also sometime in August Nate made me this little bench one afternoon. Amazing! I need to get some more magazine boxes at Ikea (they are soooo cheap there) and add some cute ribbon to the ends of them, but I'm loving it even now.

School Fall Carnival

The PTA carnival fundraiser got moved to fall so that hopefully the weather would be better. In the spring we end up freezing. Yesterday we were hot at first and then just right. We got there kinda late, but the kids still had fun.
First they had to go to the castle. They are princesses.
Next they braved the pirate obstacle course. Here's Kayla cheering Allie on.

But it was fun.

Kayla was actually too tall for the swings, but they let her go anyway.

We grabbed hot dogs and pizza for the kids and then it was off to the boardwalk. The kids were so excited to win the little prizes. Mostly they just got little tiny things like a mini stencil, a bouncy ball, ring, etc.

For two tickets you could attempt to throw a ring around not only a pole but also a teddy bear. If it went past both and laid flat on the ground you won your choice of stuffed animals. Allie got it on her first throw. She didn't want to give up her remaining rings until she got to pick "Sparkles."

Instead of going on more rides the girls just wanted to play on the playground. Kayla taught Allie how to use these things.

Then she monkey'd around a bit.

All in all it was a fun evening for a good cause-field trips.

Utah State Fair

Saturday we went to the fair. We were surprised it wasn't any bigger. I don't think it was as big as the Eastern Idaho State Fair, but maybe we just missed too many things. The first area we went was the Little Hands on the Farm section.
Kids get to learn how to work on a farm. They each get an apron and basket.

First they get corn and feed it to the cow. Then they milk the cow and get a small carton of milk for their basket.

Next they pick an apple, then they get a seed, plant it on one side of a fence and harvest on the other side. Kayla grew a carrot.

Allie got a green pepper.

Next they drove a tractor around.

Then it was time to brush the sheep and get some wool for their basket.

Then they collected an egg from the hen house.

Daddy and Allie posed for a picture. I thought it was Harry Potter, but Nate said it was some school academy.

The kids sold everything they'd collected to the grocery store. They put it all away in the correct bins and collected a play dollar. Then they got to spend their dollar at a different store. Allie got a container of Marshmallow Mateys and Kayla bought a cheese stick.

Komatsu was a sponsor of the rodeo. The girls had fun climbing on all the "big" equipment.

Now you can get your very own H3 Komatsu golf cart. Maybe someday when Nate becomes a big wig who has to golf to make deals....Not.

We wandered around looking at animals, booths, seals, feeding the girls, and even buying a foot long for $5.50 without a bun for Kayla (OUCH! If the price isn't listed, there IS a reason).

Then we headed over to the rodeo. It is nice that it is included with your admission to the fair.

An airplane flew overhead and 3 people jumped out. Kayla thought they were pretty crazy!

Here comes the parachuter.

The third guy had a flag attached to his foot (someone caught the flag as he was landing to keep it from touching the ground.)

Allie told me, "Mom those cowboys aren't very good, and their horses are really naughty."

I had to get a picture of Allie's boots. She insisted on wearing them even though we had to jam her feet into them to even get them on. Her feet were pretty sore by the end of the evening, but she looked cute.

We stayed long enough to watch the mutton bustin' before heading home. A little girl from Idaho Falls took home a brand new bike for staying on the longest. I asked the girls if they'd like to do that. My dare devil Allie said, "No Way!!!" Kayla yelled "YES!!!"
