Working in the Basement

Yesterday I helped Nate put up the sheetrock in the small storage room. I was using his cool new toy, and he left to go grab the camera. He thought it was hillarious how it would blow my hair everytime.

I Only Left for a Second

I awoke in the middle of the night and had to go use the facilities (dang I hate when that happens), and I came back to find this.

New Blog

I'm just getting into Digital Scrapbooking, and I decided to put my pages on a blog. I figure if something happens to my computer at least I'd have that until I get them printed out. I'm just beginning to load the pages, but since I don't have that many, it won't take me too long.

We've Got Trees

After living in our house for over a year, we finally got around to planting trees. We planted two flowering spring snow white crab apple (no fruit) trees in the park strip. Then we got a ash for the back. Someday after we've finished cement work, we'd like to add at least a few more shade trees and some fruit trees in the backyard too.

After Daddy loosened things up Kayla helped get the dirt out of the hole. I think she lasted a whole 5 minutes before she decided to go play with friends instead.

Don't they look nice! Actually they got tons of blossoms, but then we had a nice Stansbury wind storm...

The Easter Bunny Found Us in Idaho

We tried to hide, but the Easter Bunny found us at Grandma and Papa's house. The girls had to wait until after church, but as soon as they got changed they were ready to hunt for their baskets and eggs. Kayla had already scoped the place out before church, so Mom switched the baskets around. Unfortunately the Easter Bunny put the wrong girl's things in the wrong basket. (It's hard to remember from year to year. We might have to label them for him next year.)

Daddy found our basket. It was completely with a rather naughty Easter card. I'm going to have to have a talk with the Easter Bunny about that one.

Dressed in Our Easter Best

Thanks to Nate, the girls got to wear their Easter dresses to church on Easter morning. He brought them when he came back after working all week. It is not very often he has to pack anything, let alone church clothes for girls, for our trips to Idaho, but he did a wonderful job. What beautiful angels. They only got to find one egg each before church at 8:30am. It was scary having them wanting chocolate in those pretty dresses.

Thomson Easter Egg Hunt and Cook-Out

After Ethan's baptism we headed to Blackfoot for Grandma and Grandpa Thomson's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It has been a while since we've been able to go to their house. It was so nice to be able to visit with everybody. Nate was very sad he had to work, but we took lots of pictures to show him.

As the bigger kids were hiding the eggs, Glenn went and got a chick to entertain the little kids. The girls thought it was so cool. Kayla was thrilled to get to hold it, and it presented her with a nice present on her pants. She handled it well, and we just cleaned her up.

Allie refused to hold the chick after that, but she did enjoy petting its soft feathers.
The annual picture on the steps before the hunt begins. I think everybody is growing up. There just didn't seem to be as many kids this year. Of course that meant those hunting really made a haul.

The girls filled their buckets completely full. They really had a blast.

Which of course meant that we had to wipe them off after a couple of dips into the ashes. I was informed hot dogs taste much better when cooked over a fire, and I needed to start doing that at home. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid they're just going to have to live with grilled hot dogs until we go camping this summer.

Ethan's Baptism

We were able to attend Ethan's baptism Saturday in Idaho Falls. It was a very special service filled with the spirit. It was a wonderful opportunity for the other cousins to get to see their biggest cousin get baptised. Apparently I need to discuss baptism a little more with Allie. She was kind of worried we were going to put all the kids in the water. After I assured her only Ethan was getting baptised, she wanted to know how come he was going to get wet in his clothes. I think we're going to need a FHE lesson on this very soon.

Friends Forever

Allie loves little Jason. She thinks its great to hold him (even though he's almost as big as she is). It's cute to see how they play together.

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Papa's

The kids absolutely love Easter. There is just something wonderful about getting out and searching for brightly colored eggs filled with yummy treats. Makayla and Allison were so excited to get to go on a hunt with Tyler and Jason. Since both Nate and I had gone to the store in search of Easter goodies, we had more than enough to share. We made up some little bags for the adults to find and Kayla loved hiding those.

Allie would giggle and scream when she'd find an egg. "There's another one!!!"

Kayla found the girl potato head that Grandma got for my girls. Tyler found the boy one for them to take home too.
