Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope everybody enjoyed the day of green. Kayla and Allie were very excited for the holiday. Kayla tried to not wear any green so her teacher would give her a 4-leaf clover to wear. Being the mean mom that I am, I insisted she wear the outfit we'd picked out earlier in the week. It was okay though, cuz her teacher still let her wear a clover. Allie was just happy to be going to school!
Kayla heard all about the trick Leprechauns play and decided she was going to set a trap. She did it all herself.
Sometime during the night a Leprechaun must have come. Kayla found clovers stuck to a bunch of the pieces of tape. She figured one must have gotten stuck and then when it used it's magic to escape, clovers were left behind. (I didn't get a picture cuz she took it all apart when she woke to go potty in the night.) She insisted on taking the clovers to school to show all her friends.

First Almost Slumber Party

After hearing about so many things that happen at sleepovers, Nate and I made the hard decision to just not let the girls have any slumber parties except with family. We didn't feel right about saying okay to one friend's house and no to another's. Instead we told the girls they could have late night parties, either at our house or a friends. If they get invited over, they can stay until 10ish, but then come home to sleep. As they get older, they may be able to stay later. Then they can still party, but just sleep at home. We had the discussion last weekend. So Kayla wanted a late night party this weekend.

We agreed, and Kayla got busy planning. (I don't know where she gets that planning gene from.) At the last minute, she decided they needed invitations. I hurried and threw these together Friday morning as she was eating breakfast. She gave one out on the drive to school, but I made her wait to hand the other two out until after school. I didn't want any feelings getting hurt. (Is that really possible? Kids get so excited for something to happen, they have to tell everybody. I hope nobody felt too left out, but I figured 3 extras were plenty for our first try.)

The girls each got to make their own personal pizza. I figured they'd each have some left to take home, but man, little girls can EAT!!! Then they ran around the house playing like wild monkeys for a while. Finally, they settled into the fort (yep, I made another one) to watch a movie. Allie and I went to the store that afternoon, and I told her we could buy a movie for the party. She informed me they would just watch something they already had. Like the crazy lady I am, I tried to talk her into maybe getting the new Barbie Mermaid movie or whatever she wanted. Nope! Kayla wasn't too happy to hear that... But they picked Annie, and everybody enjoyed the show and popcorn.

Kaybree, Kayla, Allie, Sarah, and Sienna. It is so nice having a group of girls that can get along so well even though their ages range from 4-8.

Komatsu Nate

For those of you who were wondering how Nate did on his MSHAW electrical certification test, I figured I'd do a quick post and brag about my man.

He PASSED!

As if there was any question.

Of course he didn't just pass, he finished the fastest and did the best of anyone in Komatsu's history!!!!

When they were studying and reviewing, the trainer had to call Nate over, "Now explain this to these guys." :)

I'm so proud of him for all his hard work, even if it did make his "brain hurt." We appreciate the effort. I love you honey!

Crazy Hair Day

In honor of Dr. Seuss week at school, they get to do all sorts of fun things throughout the week. I wish I'd thought to take a picture every day...

Monday-Green Eggs and Ham day-wear green and have Green Eggs and Ham for lunch

Tuesday-Hat day

Wednesday- Crazy Hair day-Kayla was more than a little slow that morning, so this is all we had time for. She LOVED it though.

Thursday-Silly Socks day-We went to pick Nate up at the airport planning on just coming straight home since we were also picking up a coworker. But we really only had to drop Justin off to pick up Nate's service truck at the dealership where it had been fixed while Nate was gone. We ended up going shopping and out to eat. Kayla had a skirt and mismatched knee high socks on. I'm sure some people thought it was pretty silly. She sure did!

Happy Birthday Mommy

Saturday morning I woke up to my beautiful family singing Happy Birthday and bringing me breakfast in bed (early since Nate was leaving Sunday morning and was going to miss my birthday). Nate made me an omelet, hashbrowns, strawberries, and orange juice. Yum!

Then a little later in the day we had a little party. Kayla had the whole party planned, from decorations, to games, to dessert. We had a great time, and I got some fun presents. Thank you everybody!

I have to especially say thank you to my friend Rachel. She felt really bad Nate was going to be gone; so she took it upon herself to give me a special day. Every Tuesday her daughter plays at my house with Allie, and on Thursdays Allie goes to their house. Well she took the girls both days saying I needed to just enjoy myself and relax. Then when I went to get Allie on Tuesday, she'd had the girls make me darling birthday cards. She bought me a huge balloon bouquet, made me homemade carmels (so delicious!), made gluten free cupcakes, made me a card, gave me a frame with a picture of the girls inside, and then also gave me some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. They sang to me and really made my day.
