Delights of Summer
One of the most wonderful things about summer is the arrival of the farmer's market (for those of us who don't garden). We were driving down Redwood Rd. and saw corn for sale. After Nate did his famous two wheel driving we stopped in the parking lot. Much to our delight they were also selling raspberries. YUM!!!
Allie was thrilled to discover for dinner we were having corn on the cob and raspberries. Even Makayla managed to choke down about 15 kernels I broke off the cob. At least it was something.
Look at the size of that corn. It's huge! We were a little worried the corn would taste old considering the size, but no-it was delicious. Allie ate almost two of these giant ears.
After everyone had eaten their fill, Nate cut the kernels off the last corn cob so Allie could have them the next day. She came to investigate and declared while eating a bunch more, "It's my favorite. It's like a cookie!!!"
