Saturday Nate and I braved the wind to set up the
swingset we bought a few weeks ago (we had to wait for the sod to get established before subjecting it to kids on a
swingset). Our girls and several neighbors were anxiously waiting for us to finish. I think they thought we'd be done in a matter of minutes. A lunch break and a few hours later we were finished.

Natalie Mills (6 year old in the closest house next to us), Kayla, Sarah Mills (7 year old sister to Natalie), Nathan, and Allison all tried out the set. The city sprinkler behind our house must have gotten stuck because they were on for a full week. After a couple calls and listening to-you must just be noticing them everyday when they turn on-they were finally shut off. Of course first the back half of our yard turned into a swamp. We're waiting for it to dry out before we can move the
swingset where it will stay. Until then, we're not going to hook up the teeter-totter as you have to bury part underground.

The girls thought it was great to all be able to go on this ride together.

Allie wasn't quite sure how to work the glider on her own, but she loved it anyhow. In my own defense I had done her hair a good 10 times that day. She just doesn't like hair things or shoes for more than a few minutes.

Watch me swing!
Weeeeeeeeeeee!!! We kept have battery troubles on the cameras (Nate even got out his work camera) so we unfortunately never got any pictures of Allie on her stomach on the swings. She gets her little legs a running and they just keep going even when she cannot reach the ground anymore.

Was the wait worth it? YES!!! The girls (except Allie
cuz she had to come inside with a nasty cough and fever) played outside until I made them stop for dinner and baths.
Kayla's been begging all day to go play, but we're trying to teach her not to play with friends on Sundays-that it's for family. We're afraid if we go out all the kids will come running. Tomorrow though I am sure will bring back the neighborhood.
PS After spending the day playing with her new friends, Kayla didn't eat her dinner very good. After her bath she was trying to talk me into dessert, but we have a rule if you don't eat your dinner no dessert or bedtime snacks. She explained, "I didn't eat my dinner because I wasn't
in to it." Are you kidding me? She's only 5.
