This weekend we had 44 tons of topsoil delivered to our house to spread around the ground. We rented a bobcat since neither of us wanted to use the wheelbarrow and shovel for that much dirt. The girls loved watching the delivery of the topsoil and couldn't wait for Daddy to get home so we could go play in the dirt.

Allie was in heaven with her gardening gloves, hat, shovel, and sand toy. She got a piece of bark on her hand and came running, "Get it off! Get it off!" I turned to Nate, "I don't know who's child she is."

Apparently there was something on the lens of the camera that blurred a bunch of the photos. This is what 44 tons of topsoil looks like.

The girls had so much fun digging in the dirt. They were in heaven. After they were dumping shovels full of dirt on each other and giggling, I asked, "Now who's children are they?"

I started off driving the bobcat-we figured it would be easier on my foot and Nate could spread things around. The girls really wanted to help by shoveling dirt into the bucket. We had to explain it could do it all by itself and they needed to stay away from the "big tractor."

I ended up going inside assigned to fix dinner-I think Nate wanted a turn to play. Sadly shortly after taking this picture Kayla tumbled off the pile of topsoil. She got a pretty good goosegg too.

Saturday morning the winds were howling. We could hear our money blowing away. Nate was the only one brave enough to save the dirt. He had to put on his face mask from work and safety goggles to avoid the sandblasting.

Isn't he cute? Or is it scarry?
After a very long day outside and at least 1/2 a ton blowing away, Nate got the topsoil spread around. This week we'll have to attack it with rakes and finish things up. We're hoping to get sod in ASAP so anybody that wants to come to a sod laying party... We'll even provide the food.

That's a bummer that the winds picked up and some of your soil blew away. Dang Tooele County winds! Let us know when you'll be laying sod. We are going to St. George for the weekend but other than that we could probably help some. Especially if FOOD is involved! haha I'm totally kidding (about the food part)
make it on a day i'm not working and i'll be there :) The 26th would work, but not the 3rd
