Our Basement

Nathan spent several hours last night organizing the basement. He laid out all of our pieces of carpet and really cleaned things up. We've still got a lot of boxes of scrapbook and crafty things that need organized and opened, but I think most of that is going to have to wait until we can finish a room in the basement. In the meantime we'll just fill the white cupboards so I can keep the girls entertained and go from there.
Both girls love the fun play area, but it was sooooo dirty. They needed baths everytime they played in the basement. Now it won't be so bad, and the carpet will help soften the falls that tend to happen when little kids play. Allie had a little bit of trouble riding on some of the carpet, but it only took her a second to compensate. Besides we're hoping my foot will soon heal so the girls and I can go for walks/rides outside.

Here is our storage area. We really need to get it filled up, but it will be nice when done. We'll probably get a few more shelves and rubbermaid containers to organize this stuff, but we really want to get a year supply of the silly things like toliet paper, ziploc bags, paper towels, kleenex. I don't think we'd want to be without those in case of an emergency.

Our poor food storage was used up so we didn't have to move so much. We've been trying to buy more already, but we have quite a ways to go. Unfortunately Macy's had their case lot sale the week we moved, and we never made it there. I guess we'll just buy extras as they are on sale and everytime we go to the grocery store. Makayla is our biggest concern in case of an emergency. Not only does she have celiac disease, but she is so picky. It would be a big shock to her system. She now will eat most meats, but those are not as easy to store other than tuna.

Apparently we must have liked the updates to our house on Dawson. The paint at our new home is the same color, and these carpets are from our new home and our house on Dawson. Can you tell the difference?
