Stars on Ice

Months ago I saw an advertisement that Smuckers Stars on Ice was coming to the E Center in Salt Lake. I called Dad and suggested that Mom would love to go and he could get tickets for Mother's Day or her birthday. He said something along the line that he'd rather die than go. I asked Nate if he'd mind me going as my Mother's Day present (a fact he choose to ignore at Mother's Day), of course he said, "Have fun!"
So Mom got surprised with the news on Mother's Day. It worked out great since Amy had already suggested we have a girls week at my house after going to the cabin. They followed us home, and we spent the week crafting, playing, and even shopping a little. It was nice to get to make some cards and other fun little projects.
Anyway, Wednesday we left a little early and stopped for dinner before the show. Since we'd never been to the E Center before, we wanted to be early. In the end we decided to just eat at one of the restaurants real close by. We parked at the E Center and walked so we wouldn't have to worry about messing with the car as it got busier. Funny thing-as we walked back after eating they were charging everybody $10 to park their cars. We had no clue and were a little nervous if it would be a problem later that we hadn't paid. No problem-just free parking.
Anxiously waiting for the show to start.
This is the very best picture I got. In fact, it's the only one you can actually make out bodies. The bright lights and reflective ice don't work too well for pictures.
We were hoping to see Evan there, but since Dancing with the Stars finale was only the night before we really weren't too surprised when he didn't show. We did get to see several Olympians. There was Sasha Cohen, Todd Eldredge, Michael Weiss, Olympic medal pair and ice dancing couples, and others. It was really amazing. It is unbelievable the things they can do on the ice. After just attempting it myself, I appreciated their talent even more. Disney on Ice is a wonderful show, but Stars on Ice really shows off these athletes amazing abilities. I am so glad we were able to go.

So they were stars of ice, I bet it's hard to dance if you are ice.

I think Grandpa Bert was across the street from you. Small world. Looks like you had a great time!
