In the heat of the day (it was over 90), we decided to relax and go for a ride around the
backlot at Universal Studios. It is really kind of cool to see some of the sets and props from the movies.
They are in the process of filming Fast and The Furious 4 which brings back both Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. We saw some of the cars that they are using in that movie, but we also got to watch this show of how they make it all work. Neither girl liked the loud explosion or hot fire, but they really liked it when the cars started dancing up in the air. It was pretty cool. We've got it on video if anyone wants to see it.
This is the crash from War of the Worlds. I guess the jet was only around 70,000 to buy, but it cost at least double that to bring it from back east. Then they still had to tear it apart.
Allie of course thought everything was too noisy and just ended up going to sleep on my shoulder.
Do you recognize Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives? I admit I've never seen the show, but Amy was excited. That week they were shooting inside a sound stage, but normally the tour has to avoid the area because they film most weekdays.

Oh no, we got trapped in a flash flood.
