Hogle Zoo
Thursday we headed to the zoo as soon as they opened before it got too hot. We lucked out in it being a little cooler day, but it was still pretty hot when we left.

Mama and Baby elephants
I think Allie is about to be lunch.
All of the cats were so active. It was really neat to get to see the Tigers playing in the water together.
Then one of them started playing with this barrel. I couldn't believe how tall it was when it stood up.
Resting on the Tigers.
Giraffe
I see a Hippo Hero standing there... Okay maybe its a rhino, but I am still singing the song.
We watched the elephant show. It was pretty cool seeing how even 1 year old elephants have moments of being a good listener and moments where they just do whatever they please. At the end of the show they had the mama elephant suck water into her trunk and spray the audience-over and over-in the same place. I have never been spit on by an elephant, and I am hopeful I never will. Although some people really seemed to be enjoying it.
The bird show was really cool. We have never been before, and we were quite impressed. At the end, Papa gave the girls a $5 to donate. They gave it to a bird who put it in the box. In exchange they were given a ticket for the train and the chance to get pictures. Here they are with an American Bald Eagle. Pretty cool!

That was a rhinoceros silly, not a hippo :) looks like a fun trip.
You are so right. I just had that song stuck in my head for some silly reason and didn't even look at the picture. I think my brain is fried. It's a good thing I'm not the one going back to school.
