We made plans to go to Idaho for the weekend. We'd be able to combine watching Tyler and Jason so Cory and Angie could go on a hike and Lincoln's baby blessing. It was going to be perfect. Unfortunately, we decided since neither I nor Allie have good luck when it comes to getting sick, we'd better skip the baby blessing. I would have really liked to get to go, but both Nate and I felt strongly that we should err on the side of caution. It sounds like we missed out on a beautiful blessing and a fun party. Hopefully next time...
I have been really wanting to do a Halloween party this year. I was trying to figure out how to narrow my list down, when one of my neighbors suggested we do a block party. Yay! But then I didn't get my party. So I decided to at least have some fun with dinner while in Pocatello. We also caught up on birthdays at the same time. So sorry, but there are lots of pictures.
I was going to make an eyeball cheeseball like I did last year, but at the last minute Nate suggested I do a mummy. I really love how it turned out.

Mom was making a veggie tray, but I wanted to spice things up a bit. So I made a skeleton. I was happy just getting my veggies from the tray, but Nate dove right in and ate an eyeball.

Here's the spread. Cory and Angie brought eye-deviled eggs and salad. I also made pumpkin jell-o jigglers for the kids. Mom got the Halloween plates and cups.

Then for the main course we had candy corn pizza-mozzarella in the center, cheddar for the middle, and fiesta mix for the yellow outer ring. It probably would have looked better if we didn't put other toppings under the cheese, but it tasted better with the extras. Just cut into triangles and viola-candy corn pizza.

Two very happy little girls.

After dinner it was wrestling time. Daddy was down, but then he caught Tyler and trapped him under all the other kids. Jason wanted to join in the fun, so Kayla helped him not get hurt.

Wheeeeeeee! Throw me higher, Cory!!!!!

Cory's turn to get attacked.

We gave Tyler his birthday present. I think he liked it by the way he tore into the box.

Jason wanted to help Nate open his presents.

What a spoiled rotten husband I have. He finally came up with an idea for Christmas, an ipod touch. I bought it, but surprise Happy Birthday! I warned him, Christmas will not be very big this year, but enjoy your present now. And don't worry-he has. We've been staying up way too late playing games. Allie got to play with it on Monday, but then Daddy took his present to work. She was quite disgusted with him. The nerve...

There were Butterfingers in the bag, and Allie managed to snag one. She had it opened before we even realized what she was doing. Nate told her we were going to have dessert and she could have one later on the ride home. If you look carefully, you will find what happened to her opened candy when she thought she was handing it to Daddy to save. Now how is that fair? Don't worry he had plenty more to share.

And Cory quickly distracted her.

But not before Jason saw the candy. He really wanted one. Nate sent some home with the boys for later.

Finally we sang happy birthday over a bowl of dirt and worms. Ty did NOT want to eat his dirt...until he discovered it was pudding and cookies. Even then, I think he preferred to just "go eat worms".
