By now pretty much everybody should know that our new bundle of joy is a GIRL. She is due on July 4th, but will hopefully make her appearance 1 week before. She is growing well, and her sisters are busy planning how they will take care of their baby sister.
Yesterday I had another ultrasound. In the last 4 weeks, our baby girl has gone from 13 oz to 1 lb 12 oz. Thankfully she is growing good and looking right on schedule.
The bad news is that my body seems to be getting ready for delivery. I've been having a lot of contractions and cramping for 4-6 weeks. It has been obnoxious, but not real worrisome until yesterday. Yesterday morning as I was driving kids to school, I realized just how much pain I was in. Since I already had an appointment scheduled for the afternoon, I just did everything I knew of to relax my body. Instead of the long to do list that I had planned to tackle, I spent the day laying around until it was time to go.
When I got into my appointment, the nurse started fretting. I was a little worried, but not too much until I saw how worried the nurses were. My blood pressure was WAY lower than it has been (better not be a sign of POTS coming back), the baby has been really low, the contractions, cramping... I am just so grateful to be going to such a great high risk OB. I know I can trust him, and that makes me feel so much better. After checking me, it was determined for now my cervix is cooperating so I can be home. I'll have to take it easy and really pay attention to what my body is saying. Any increase of symptoms or new symptoms I am to call/go in. While I'm taking it easy for a few days, Kayla decided she will be the Mom. Allie decided she would play with friends... Nate decided he'd better get to work on painting and finishing the basement. Anyway, we're doing okay just taking it nice and slow for at least a week.
