Christmas with the Hulse Family

On Christmas Eve we got to celebrate Christmas with Nate's family. We had a blast, and the kids even got worn out enough to sleep really good all night long.

We started the evening out by frosting cookies for Santa Claus. I had made our gluten free cookies and froze them earlier that week. It was a new recipe-which I worried about after the Gingerbread men. It was soooooo good! They were almost like regular sour cream cookies.

Kayla had a great time decorating, but her poor shirt ended up with almost as much frosting as the cookies. Thank goodness for shout.

Here's a cute picture of Jordyn.

Even Allie got in on the action. I think the girls philosophy was the more candy the better. Terra had made the frosting and brought tons of toppings. The kids were in heaven.

These are all the participants in the cookie decorating contest. It was supposed to be a contest with only one prize for the best decorated cookie. A little second thinking and everybody won-Candyland to leave and Grandpa and Grandma's. Good thinking. That could have been bad...

Terra, Josh, and Travis are the adults. Ethan, Allison, Makayla (don't ask me what's with the glasses), Jonas, Cameron, Morgan, and Jordyn are the kids.

Travis had wheelbarrow races with the kids. I was surprised how good Kayla did. She just flew.

Next, Terra led us in a very nice Christmas devotional where we all decided what kind of gifts we could give the Savior this year.

Poor Grandpa's back. I think this is what inspired the first gift for the kids.

It's a GIANT horse. We were too busy watching the kids bounce all over the room to get good pictures, but they love it. Allie insists on it sitting right next to the couch for us to trip over, but it keeps her entertained.

The kids also got these cool keyboards that can be played as a regular keyboard, angled for easier use by two, or even flipped so two kids can look at each other while playing. I've been being accompanied in my house cleaning the past few days.

The siblings all exchanged gifts, and we also did with Nate's parents. We got some fun stuff to have family home evening, games, towels, and lamps for our new home. Even better than that was the fun time we had. I just love the Christmas season. It makes everybody so happy.
