Sheetrock Time

Nate's brother Nicholas came to help with the sheetrock this weekend. YES!!! I love seeing sheetrock on the walls. It makes things look so much closer to being finished. Mike, his son Nick, and Nate went to Home Depot last week with Mike's truck and trailer. They got 60 sheets which they unloaded into the garage.

Saturday after our Easter Egg Hunt, Nate helped some ward members move. It was really sweet of him, but he didn't get the duct work done before Nicholas arrived like he had planned. So while he finished that, Nicholas hung insulation around the room. They carried about 1/3 of the sheetrock down before they were worn out (apparently carrying boxes had already done Nate in). They decided to hang those they'd taken down and carry the rest today.

Nicholas is working hard-or is it hardly working. I'm just kidding we really appreciate his help. There is no way Nate could have done it alone, and I'm just not that much help when it comes to that stuff. Thank you Nicholas!
Look at that beautiful sheetrock hung all over the bedroom. They were able to get the ceilings done in both the bedroom and closet. They got the top layer put up around the room and some in the closet before they had to call it quits. Nate needed to take a nap before working all night tonight, and Nicholas wanted to get home in time for FHE.
They weren't quite done yet. Nate and Nicholas then got to carry all the rest of the sheetrock into the basement. It looked like they were getting quite the workout. Allie was really good at opening and closing the door for them. We sat in the front room reading stories, and when we'd see them coming she'd jump up and magically the door would open.
Down, Down, Down...

I am sure loving all this work getting done. It makes me so happy. Nate's going to be working nights for the next week and won't be able to do anything, and then we're coming to Poky to help with some projects at my parents house before Dad goes under the knife again. After that hopefully Nate and I will be able to get the rest of the room and closet done in the evenings. Then we'll do the storage room, tape, mud, sand, mud, sand, mud, sand again, texture, hang doors, build shelves in the closet, paint, paint, baseboards and trim, finish the electrical, and then maybe, just maybe, we can move the bed down and work on the bathroom. That's not asking too much, is it?
